So… Are We Supposed to Have a “Mom Group” by Now?

Let’s just address the elephant in the playroom: Everyone says motherhood is better with a village… but no one tells you where to actually find said village.

Is there a secret handshake? A sign-up sheet at the hospital? A bat signal you missed while Googling “is this amount of spit-up normal?”

If you’re a mom who feels like everyone else magically found their people—the group chat, the coffee dates, the “we totally get each other” moms—while you’re still awkwardly waving from the sidelines… hi. You’re in the right place.

The Missing Tribe

I had the idea for this blog after watching yet another TikTok of a group of moms on a “Girl’s Trip”. The comment section was full of women who were mirroring my exact sentiment… “Where are you finding THAT MANY FRIENDS?!? I can’t even fine ONE!”

Because here’s the truth no one posts on social media: A lot of us are lonely. Even the ones who look like they’ve got it all together. Especially the ones who look like they’ve got it all together.

Honestly, making friends as a mom is weird. You're exhausted, overstimulated, and trying to decide if you trust another human based on how they react to snacks on the floor. Deep conversations feel risky, small talk feels pointless, and somehow everyone already seems booked out until 2037.

A Space for All Moms

This space exists for the moms who:

  • Don’t feel like they fit into the “perfect mom group” mold

  • Want real connection but don’t know where to start

  • Are craving community without pressure, performance, or pretending

No forced icebreakers. No “you should totally come to my MLM party.” No pretending we all love playdates.

Just honesty, humor, and a reminder that you are not the only one wondering why this part feels so hard.

Community doesn’t have to be loud to be real. And it doesn’t mean something is wrong with you if you haven’t found yours yet.

So, hi! Pull up a chair. Welcome to the MotherHOOD. We’ve been saving a seat for you. 💛
